We provide four-i (information; insight; ideas and inspiration) to empower property professionals with the knowledge, tools and network they need to build and sustain fantastic businesses doing great work. Commercial Director

What will you be doing?

As Commercial Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our business by crafting and executing a forward-thinking commercial strategy.

You will lead our sales and marketing operations, driving growth while ensuring we meet both revenue and profitability targets. This pivotal role will involve working closely with senior leadership to identify new opportunities, expand our market presence, and deliver outstanding results. You’ll guide and inspire the sales and marketing teams, striking the right balance between creativity, strategic thinking, and operational excellence to maximise impact. Your leadership will be essential to helping us build long-lasting relationships, scale our business, and continue delivering exceptional value to our clients.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue and profitability growth
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on pricing, targets and strategic direction
  • Oversee budgets, financial performance, and P&L to ensure alignment with overall business strategy, managing forecasting, reporting, and monitoring performance
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to diversify revenue streams
  • Drive growth by achieving ambitious revenue targets and leveraging your network for new business
  • Lead and inspire the sales and marketing teams to develop, execute and follow up impactful campaigns
  • Lead projects to enhance operations, managing designers, production teams, and contractors
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster retention and business growth
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities

Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers.

What are you all about?

  • You have solid experience selling to senior decision-makers in small – medium sized businesses
  • You have a strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to analyse market trends and data to develop effective commercial strategies
  • You possess strong financial acumen and are able to manage budgets and financial performance metrics
  • You are positive and enthusiastic and set high expectations for yourself, demonstrating initiative and common sense
  • You are a team player but also self-motivated when working alone
  • You inspire confidence through your interactions, and you fulfil expectations
  • You have strong negotiation skills, with the ability to develop and manage commercial agreements with customers and vendors
  • You’re equally confident communicating on the telephone, in person or via written comms
  • You are experienced in leading and managing hybrid teams
  • You are able to work effectively under pressure, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities
  • You are prepared to travel; this role is home based with regular travel work with the team, and to attend events and meetings.

  • Diarising regular in-person catch ups so you can see our smiling faces in person

Salary

Competitive – we’re open to discussion based on experience and what you think you can bring to the role

  • 25 days’ holiday per year – we work on trust so if you can count to 25, that’s good enough for us!
  • Birthday off – if your birthday falls on a weekend you can choose the Monday or the Friday instead
  • Flexible working hours – you’re contracted to 37.5 hours per week. The bulk of this will need to be done within traditional working hours due to the nature of the role but if you need to go to the dentist, take the kids to school, or just fancy a quick coffee with a friend, no problem

  • Regular team get togethers. We all work remotely so it’s nice to catch up in person when we can
